Meet Some Lives We Have Saved

Alex

Alex - a Newfoundland/Chow mix was a stray rescued from the streets.  In his new home, a life-altering bond was formed that represented the enormous benefits received from a rescue animal.  Alex defined the meaning of unconditional love which he bestowed upon us for 12 years.  He now plays and waits for us at Rainbow Bridge.

Freckles

Freckles - an extremely abused Shepherd mix was rescued by a shelter and adopted at an "Opt-to-Adopt" fund raising event.  If there ever was a success story of how an unadoptable animal can be made whole again, if given the chance to live and placed into a loving home, Freckles is that success.  A once extremely timid and scared animal that would not look at anyone for fear of being abused, he is now playful and eager to give kisses to anyone that will accept them.

Molly

Molly - is a rescued chocolate Lab mix.  She had given birth to a large litter that was taken from her before they were even weaned.  When we got her, she was extremely undernourished and you could see that she just had pups.  Still, with her being starved and her babies taken away from her, she would rather receive a pat on the head and a hug than food.  She was desperate for affection.  She now has all the food she can eat and all the love she wants.

(Add Photo Box of Peanut)

Peanut - a fiesty but sweet Terrier/Shitzu mix was rescued from a shelter.  She had a wonderful home where she received and gave love for 14 years before she left us for Rainbow Bridge where we will meet again.

(Add Photo Box of Shadow)

Shadow - a beautiful, independent Calico was rescued from a shelter and given a permanent home where she could be as dependent or independent as she desired.

(Add Photo Box of Shadow)

Tiffany - a stray, rescued from an alley, discovered her permanent home not only provided all of the food her little heart desired but also gave her love and reign of the house.

Major

Major - an adorable Spitz, was rescued from a family who could no longer take care of him.  We call him Mr. Priss because he crosses his front paws when he sits in front of you as if to say, "I know...I'm special" and he is.  In his permanent home, he is well behaved and very loved.

Rosie

Rosie - a shelter rescued Collie mix is a big baby and, even though she is the smallest, a self-announced mommy to her siblings.  As with Collies, she feels her job is to make sure everyone is groomed and protected.  At her permanent home she is given the freedom to do just that plus receive grooming, love and protection herself.

Lily

Lily - was rescued by a shelter and adopted into a permanent, loving home even though he had outgrown the precious kitten stage.  Irresistible, he would follow you around like a puppy and never miss a moment to give you a purr and lay in your lap.

Holly

Holly - A calico, came as a set.  She was rescued, along with her sister, by a shelter and adopted by a loving home.  Now, she is a healthy cat that loves to lay in the sun and have her belly scratched.

Annie

Annie - is Holly's sister and also a calico.  By the time she was adopted, she was very frail and had to be fed with an eyedropper.  She survived and, even though she is unusually small for her age, is very vocal, independent and lets you know when she wants attention.  Her best friends are dogs.  Go figure.

Maggie

Maggie - is an abandoned young cat that was dumped in a field by her previous owner when she became pregnant.  When we found her, she would eat food we left outside and would sleep in a padded bed we placed outside but would not let us get too close.  Over several months, she realized that the "food and bed place" was safe.  When it was time for her to have her kittens, she gave birth in the bed we had provided while we kept her company and stroked her head through the births of her five babies.  That night, we brought bed, Maggie and all five kittens inside to ensure they were safe.  From that point, she found her new family and home and shows her appreciation daily.

Maggie Family

Maggie & Her Kids

Tabby

Tabby - was born kitten number five.  By this time, Maggie was very tired and did not give her the attention she gave to her previous babies so she required a little more special attention to ensure she received enough nourishment.  By now, you would never know she was the runt of the litter.  She is strong and very independent.

Missy

Missy - was kitten number four to be born.  Like her baby sister, Tabby, she was very small but has proven to be the most vocal of them all.  She is just precious.

Bandit

Bandit - was Maggie's first born.  To be as big as he was when he was born and now, he is the most timid of all his siblings.  When he wants attention, he rolls over on his back so you can rub his tummy.

Bubba

Bubba - is the lover boy of Maggie's kids.  Early on, he discovered that being a lap cat got you a lot of love and attention.  A lap cat he is.

Sammy

Sammy - is Bubba's twin brother.  Other than their personalities, it is difficult to tell them apart.  Sammy likes attention but it doesn't matter if it comes from humans or his siblings.  He receives both.
